Customer Maintenance - Customer Tab
The Customer Tab contains sales information such as date acquired, sales representative, SIC category and date last used. Credit information such as credit limit, account balance, unbilled balance, last billing date, and last billing amount. This tab also contains miscellaneous information such as Federal ID Number (FEIN), default order type, and alternate name. There are two fields that do not change with each tab. The customer code and customer name fields are both pull-down fields. You can activate either one of these fields by pressing the down arrow button. After you select an item from the pull-down, the record that is associated with the selected item is displayed on the screen. If you want to modify the customer name, you can simply edit the name field. This window has a status bar and a toolbar. Both follow the same format as the other windows. The status bar contains status for insert, num lock, caps lock, time, and date. To view a different tab, click on the tab you want to view. Toolbar Layout All toolbars throughout TotalFleet windows are similar. Not all options on a toolbar are valid for each window. The first group of buttons on a toolbar are the exit window buttons OK and Cancel . OK saves current work before exiting a window if user is in New or Change mode. Cancel will discard any changes made while in Change or New mode before exiting window. The next group of buttons set screen mode. One of the three screen mode buttons will be pressed indicating current mode. To change a mode, click on the mode button you want active. The next group of buttons are record movement keys. There are either two or three buttons in this group, depending on current mode. When in View mode, a Previous and Next button appear. These buttons are used to navigate through records. While in New or Change mode, the toolbar displays a Save button. Clicking the Save button will save changes and return you to the View mode. The third button is Search . The next group of buttons are the Reports and Print keys. The Reports button activates a list of the current window's available reports. The Print button prints the current record on the default printer. The last group of buttons are used for on-line help. The CHELP button is used to get context sensitive help. To use CHELP , click on the button (the cursor will change to an arrow with a question mark), then click on the item for which you want help. The HELP button will activate the help file. An optional group of buttons are available for sending and receiving E-mail. The toolbar may be modified to include these buttons. An additional feature available with the toolbar is demonstrated in this screen capture. You will notice a small box that says "Enter Into View Mode". When the cursor is idle on top of a button in the toolbar, small help boxes will appear. |
